Established in 1975, the Japanese branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) seeks to promote research on international and comparative aspects of tax law and public finance. It is an open and independent platform consisting of tax professionals in both private and public sectors. It aims to be inclusive in terms of ethnicity, creed, gender, or age. It assists the activities of IFA and holds seminars on current issues of interest on a regular basis.

- Call for Branch Reporters for IFA 2027Â Stockholm Congress
In order to widely seek suitable candidates for branch reporters, the IFA Japanese Branch will ask members to self-nominate or be recommended by others to serve as branch reporters after the 2015 Basel (Switzerland) Congress.
We are currently calling for self-nominations and recommendations for branch reporters for the IFA Annual General Meeting (Stockholm Congress) to be held from 19 to 23 September 2027.
The themes are:
Subject1:Tax incentives in the post BEPS era (General Reporter: Itai Grinberg (USA))
Subject2:Taxation of services in the digital era (General Reporter: Jérôme Monsenego (Sweden)) 
Applications must be include: â‘ a letter of recommendation, â‘¡a resume, â‘¢a list of achievements, and â‘£contact forms. â‘¡andâ‘¢ may be submitted in other formats.
The deadline for submission to the Secretariat of the IFA Japanese Branch is 31 March 2026.

IFA/APAC 2026Â Tokyo Conference
IFA/APAC 2026 Tokyo Conference will be held on Monday, 11 May 2026 and Tuesday, 12 May 2026, at the Hotel New Otani Tokyo (4-1 Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, JAPAN  ZIP code 102-8578).
For details of the venue (location, access from Haneda Airport or Narita Airport), please click here.
From Haneda Airport, it takes about 40-50 minutes by taxi.
From Narita Airport, use Narita Express from the Narita Airport Station to Tokyo Station (about 60 minutes), then take a taxi (about 15 minutes).
